Exam Score Calculator

Enter correct and wrong answers to get your raw score under the exam’s marking scheme, with the marks lost to negative marking and your accuracy.

Marking scheme

Section B numerical questions have no negative marks in recent papers. Use the custom option to model them separately. Confirm the scheme in the official notice for your exam year.

This gives your raw score only. Ranks, percentiles and cut-offs depend on how everyone else performs and on normalisation, so they are published by the exam body after the exam.

Questions about the Exam Score Calculator

Does this show my rank or percentile?

No. Rank and percentile depend on how every other candidate performed, and some exams normalise scores. The exam body publishes them after the exam.

Is the marking scheme always right?

It is the usual scheme for the exam, but schemes change between years. Check the official notice for your exam year, and edit the marks above if it differs.

How is accuracy calculated?

Correct answers divided by the questions you attempted (correct plus wrong), as a percentage. Questions you left blank are not counted.

Is my information saved or sent anywhere?

No. The tool runs in your browser and the numbers you type are not sent to our servers.
