Planning an admission application

Admissions usually move in stages: online registration, entrance test or merit calculation, counselling or seat allotment, and finally reporting with documents. Missing any stage can cost you the seat, so track them together.

Choice filling in counselling matters as much as your rank. List courses and institutes in the order you truly prefer, because the seat is allotted by your priority and your rank.

Keep digital and printed copies of mark sheets, category and domicile certificates, and a few passport photographs ready for the whole process.

  • Read the eligibility clause for your board and subject combination.
  • Pay the fee only on the official portal.
  • Note the last date for seat acceptance or freezing, not just registration.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an entrance exam score for every admission?

No. Some courses admit on merit of the qualifying exam. The post states whether an entrance score is required.

What is seat freezing?

Accepting the allotted seat and paying the admission fee so that it is not released in the next round.

Can I change my course after admission?

Some institutes allow it in later rounds or through an internal process. The rules are given in the official brochure.
