WHAT HAPPENED
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on 18 October 2026 that he was deeply distressed by the loss of lives in a mishap in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. He extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the PMNRF for the next of kin of each person who died and Rs 50,000 for each of the injured.
