Selection process

  • Prelims screening with sectional and overall cut-offs.
  • Mains merit deciding provisional allotment.
  • Language proficiency test where applicable, then verification.

There is no interview stage.

How to prepare

Clerk selection rewards speed with accuracy: daily 20-minute sectional drills for each prelims section, weekly mains mocks with strict timers, and GA revision from banking compilations. Push simplification and puzzles to reflex level, since mains quant and reasoning decide allotment.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Preparing at PO difficulty and losing clerk speed.
  • Ignoring computer aptitude inside reasoning.
  • Applying for a state whose language you cannot prove.
  • Skipping GA until after prelims.
  • Guessing under negative marking.
