Details
The National Testing Agency opened registration for Session 1 of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2027 on 24 October 2026. JEE Main is the entrance test for B.E./B.Tech., B.Arch. and B.Planning programmes at NITs, IIITs and other participating institutions, and it is also the qualifying test for JEE Advanced.
The form and fee can be submitted online until 11:50 PM on 22 November 2026. For the first time there is a late-fee window, from 23 to 26 November 2026, with an extra Rs 500. Corrections are allowed from 27 to 29 November. The exam city slip is due around 30-31 December 2026 and the admit card on 13 January 2027. The exam is on 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027, in two shifts a day (9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm), fully in computer-based mode.
Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026, or who are appearing in 2027, can apply; there is no age limit, but institutes have their own admission conditions, such as 75% in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST) or a top-20-percentile board rank for NITs and IIITs. Keep your Aadhaar details updated, because the notice asks for it for both sessions. Session 2 has a separate registration window, reported as 5 January to 3 February 2027, with exams in April.
The fee depends on category, gender, paper and exam centre; check the 2027 information bulletin for the exact amounts. Always confirm the details on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
