How to read a recruitment notification

A recruitment notice looks long, but only a handful of facts decide whether you should apply: the post name, the number of vacancies, the qualification asked for, the age window and the closing date. Start there, then move on to the fee and the selection stages.

Qualification is usually counted as on a cut-off date given in the notice, not the day you apply. Age relaxation for reserved categories, ex-servicemen and candidates with disabilities is applied on top of the upper limit, so always check the category table in the official document.

Never rely on a summary alone for the final decision. Use our write-up to shortlist, then confirm every detail on the official website linked from the post before paying a fee.

  • Keep scanned photo, signature and ID proof ready before the portal opens.
  • Apply a few days before the last date; portals slow down near the deadline.
  • Save the final submitted form and fee receipt as PDF.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know a job notice is genuine?

Open the official link given on the post and match the organisation name, advertisement number and dates with the notification hosted on that site. Genuine bodies never ask for money by personal account transfer.

Can I apply for more than one post in the same notice?

It depends on the notice. Some bodies need one form per post, others allow a single form with several post preferences. The “how to apply” section of each post tells you what applies.

What if I miss the last date?

Dates are sometimes extended, and we mark such posts as “Extended”. If no extension is announced, the form cannot be submitted after the deadline.

Information is summarised in our own words from public notifications for convenience. Always confirm details on the official website before applying or paying any fee.
