A five-point daily revision routine for competitive exams: what to read, how to note it and how to practise it in ten minutes.

ABOUT THIS NOTE Daily current affairs does not have to take hours. This routine takes about fifteen minutes and builds a steady base for banking, SSC and other exams. THE FIVE-POINT SET 1. One RBI or banking item: a policy, circular or banking sector trend. 2. One economy item: a data release, scheme or fiscal decision. 3. One national item: a government decision, law, appointment or award. 4. One international item: a treaty, summit, organisation head or global report ranking. 5. One static link: a fact from the background of today's news, such as the headquarters of an organisation or the ministry that runs a scheme. HOW TO PRACTISE Read the headline, close the screen and say the fact aloud in one sentence. Then write it in a notebook or flashcard. End the day with one multiple-choice question per item to confirm recall. COMMON MISTAKES - Collecting too many items without revising them. - Memorising numbers without checking the source or the date. - Ignoring the static background that exam questions usually test.
