A month-wise revision method for banking, economy and regulatory current affairs: what to track, how to organise notes and how to test yourself.
ABOUT THIS NOTE
Monthly revision is where scattered daily news turns into retained knowledge. This guide shows how to build and use a monthly roundup for banking, economy and regulatory exams.
WHAT TO TRACK EVERY MONTH
- RBI: policy decisions, new circulars, guidelines on digital lending, payments and KYC, and key appointments.
- Government: new schemes with ministry and target group, Budget follow-ups and changes in tax or GST rates.
- Economy: GDP, inflation (CPI and WPI), IIP, PMI, trade data, forex reserves and fiscal numbers.
- Banking: mergers and licences, IPOs, major loan and deposit trends and asset quality.
- Awards, appointments, summits, sports, books and important days.
HOW TO ORGANISE NOTES
Use one page per category. For each item write what happened, who is involved (person, organisation or ministry), the place or number, and why it matters. Keep static links in the margin, for example a new scheme linked to the ministry that runs it.
REVISION CYCLE
Read daily headlines, summarise weekly, consolidate monthly, and revisit the last three months in the final fortnight before an exam. Check facts against the official source (RBI, PIB, ministry websites) before you memorise a number.
SELF-TEST
Turn each item into a one-line question and an answer. Quiz yourself on the numbers, names and places without looking, then mark the ones you missed for the next cycle.
